PhD, associate professor of Communication at the United Arab Emirates University; before joining UAEU, she was an associate professor of Communication at Bradley University in Illinois, USA.; her research focuses on media representations of minority women in the West, diaspora studies, and use of the Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) in non-Western contexts; currently she researches Africa’s emerging markets and their communicative sphere.; member of the International Communication Association (ICA), Association for Education in Journalism and Communication Research (AEJMC), and International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).
